Progression of heart disease begins many years before an ‘event’ – there are steps that can be taken to monitor and put a plan in place to address and manage a patient’s risk factors.
Did you know?
Evidence has shown that 50 percent of heart attack victims have normal levels of cholesterol. Clearly there are more factors to monitor .
We are now at the point now with diagnostic testing that it’s possible to examine the cholesterol in more detail than LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels. With the testing that’s available we can precisely determine what parts of the LDL and HDL and our lipids that might be contributing to the overall cardiovascular risk.
There are markers that have been accepted in cardiac research as risk factors in developing heart disease.
How can we help?
We monitor the various risk factors that have been identified through recent research as contributing to heart disease – there are approximately 30 modifiable risk factors that we look at – and then we work with you to manage these risk factors and lower your risk.
